Across PG&E, During Campaign for the Communities, the “G” stands for Generous!
October is an exciting month for all. Halloween is just around the corner and the Holiday Season is fast approaching with the spirit of Peace and Joy bringing smiles to all. At PG&E, October also starts a month of charitable giving; a chance for employees to learn about community benefit organizations, volunteerism and an opportunity to make a positive difference for some of their causes.
Now that we’re fully into the new year, the generosity of PG&E Employees is making positive impacts at several organizations across the valley- especially here in Fresno - where this generosity is, quite literally, saving lives and spreading joy; and the dogs and cats at Animal Compassion Team could not be more grateful!
During the month of October, all PG&E employees participate in this Campaign, but here in Fresno, the employees who everyday answer questions and help customers with excellent customer service, go all out.
The Awesome Team at PG&E
The teams in the Customer Contact Center, the folks who answer the phones when customers call, spend the month planning and executing events, food booths, opportunity drawings, and an amazing Silent Auction, all to raise money for some deserving Community Benefit Organizations.
Employees worked hard in October to support three distinct organizations, including Animal Compassion Team!
Amara Akbar, an Operations Supervisor in the Fresno Contact Center and a huge cat lover, was excited to share the news with ACT.
“We have a lot of animal lovers here in our Contact Center and we love all that ACT does to help animals in need. We have several ACT Adopters here at PG&E and we were all delighted to give a little to this group who does so much!”

And give a “little” they certainly did! ACT was overjoyed to receive nearly $7k dollars, all from donations made by individual employees!
Joyce Brandon, co-founder and Manager of ACT, received the donations with a big smile.
“This means so much to the animals we care for every day,” said Brandon. “From veterinary care to good food to fun toys and warm igloos, we could not do what we do without all that you do.”
